Clyde Robert Bulla

Born in Missouri in 1914. Prolific children's author, whose stories are mainly adventures, often of the 'Wild West' ilk, featuring cowboys, injuns and riding the trail, although from the point of view of the children who live in that world. Amongst these there are a few stories which are more involved with the horse/pony side of things and these I have included below, plus a couple of donkey stories which he also wrote.

Mr. Bulla was brought up on a farm, which probably explains why the ranching life and animals appear in many of his books. He loved writing from an early age, first publishing magazine and newspapers articles before becoming a fully-fledged writer of novels. After a slightly shaky start as an author, he eventually found his niche as a children's author.

Collector's Info
The majority of the books were published in both hardback and paperback. Most of these are easy to find in their native USA. They can be a lot harder to find elsewhere however. Here it may be cheaper to buy copies from America rather  than pay the high prices charged by UK book sellers.
